Terms of Service

These terms cover your use of Diffed. By creating an account you’re agreeing to them, so please actually read them — they’re short on purpose.

What Diffed is

Diffed turns the games you already play with friends into real leagues, duels and seasons — pulling stats in automatically where a game has an API, and reading them off a screenshot where it doesn’t. It’s built for a friend group, not a stranger lobby: most of what you see is invite-only unless you or a commissioner chooses to make it public.

Your account

• You need to be old enough to enter a binding agreement where you live, and at least 13.
• One account per person. Don’t create accounts to impersonate someone else or to get around a ban.
• You’re responsible for what happens under your account. Use a real password and don’t share it.
• Linking a game account or verifying a handle is you telling us it’s actually yours. Claiming someone else’s handle to attribute their stats to you is grounds for removal.

What you upload

Screenshots, self-reported stats, chat messages, and anything else you post stay yours — you’re not signing away ownership by uploading them. You’re giving us permission to store them, process them (including sending screenshots to a third-party AI service to read the stats off them — see the Privacy Policy), and show them to the other people you share a group, league or duel with, which is the entire point of uploading them.

Don’t upload:

• A screenshot that isn’t genuinely yours or doesn’t genuinely show what it claims to.
• Stats you edited, faked, or reconstructed rather than read off a real match.
• Anything you don’t have the right to share — someone else’s private information, for instance.

Submitting a match you didn’t actually play, or altering one to change the result, is the specific thing our anti-cheat checks exist to catch. Do it anyway and expect the match — and possibly the account — to get removed.

Fair use

Don’t use Diffed to:

• Harass, threaten, or deliberately embarrass another player.
• Automate requests against the app outside of the features built for it (linking accounts, syncing matches).
• Try to break, overload, or gain unauthorized access to any part of the service.
• Resell, scrape at scale, or republish other people’s stats or profiles without their say-so.

Group and league commissioners can remove members and moderate their own spaces. We can suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, with more weight given to safety issues (harassment, impersonation) than to first-time mistakes.

Game data and third parties

Match stats come from the game publishers’ own APIs where one exists, or from a screenshot you provide where it doesn’t. We don’t control those APIs and can’t guarantee they stay available, accurate, or unchanged — a publisher can alter or shut one down at any time, and a mode or feature that syncs automatically today may need to move to manual upload later. Diffed isn’t affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by any game publisher whose stats appear here.

No warranty

Diffed is provided as-is. We work to keep scoring accurate and the app running, but we don’t promise it’s error-free, uninterrupted, or that every stat will sync or extract correctly every time. Don’t rely on it for anything where being wrong has real consequences — bragging rights and league standings, not stakes higher than that.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows it, Diffed and whoever operates it aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service — a lost bet with a friend over a mis-scored match isn’t something we can make right, however unfair it feels.

Ending your access

You can delete your account at any time from Settings — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what that removes. We can suspend or terminate an account for a real violation of these terms; where it’s not urgent, we’ll try to tell you why first.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, we’ll say so — a notice in the app, or an email if it’s significant — before it takes effect. Continuing to use Diffedafter that means you accept the update.
